After discussions with Kathie and Russ, I have set up both a Page
and a Group for Burkhead UMC.

To explain a bit, a Page is similar to a personal profile, but for an
organization. As I have set it up, it is public, and anyone can visit
it and become "fan" Fans can post to the Page wall, and they will
receive notification when things happen on the page. The
administrators can also post photos, videos and links. There can be
discussions, but I'm not sure how that works yet. You become a fan by
visiting the page and clicking on the button at the top.

I think the Burkhead page can be found at:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Winston-Salem-NC/Burkhead-United-Methodist-Church/282864369463?v=app_2373072738#!/pages/Winston-Salem-NC/Burkhead-United-Methodist-Church/282864369463?v=wall

Or just search for Burkhead United from the facebook page.

The Burkhead Group has been set up as a private page where invited
members and friends can post on the wall, post photos, videos,
discussions, and events that are seen only by the members of the
group. If you have a Facebook account, and wish to join, contact
either Kathie or myself and we will hook you in.

A user can tell whether they are on the private or public forum by the
profile picture displayed. The picture of the building is public, the
interior photo is private. [ easy, huh?
;-) ]

We, at Burkhead are hoping to use this as another channel for
communicating with our members and the world.
