Friends and fellow disciples,

 
Thanks to so many for the marvelous support for us, the wonderful
bereavement meal, the many hugs and supportive acts of love and your
attendance today at the service in High Point.

 
But, I need your prayers again for the Clontz family. Some of you may have
noticed the older woman who was having some difficulties immediately
following the service. That was Elma Clontz, Vance Clontz's brother's wife.
Vance was three days older than Elma. They took her to High Point Regional
and there they discovered she had a massive brain hemorrhagic stroke. They
transferred her to Baptist Hospital where they confirmed there was nothing
to be done. We stayed with the family until just a few minutes ago when
they(family) ran us out of the hospital. They were waiting for her to move
to a regular room (more private than ER), and they would remove life
support, and her death should come very quickly. Also, Kathie's brother and
sister-in-law have taken Kathie's mom to the ER in High Point because her
coughing, congestion and aching were getting worse. We hope we can convince
her not to go to Morganton tomorrow.

 
This is bizarre and almost overwhelming. We are strong, but are tired.
Again, pray for strength and peace. Ironically, Elma had just been talking
about she wanted to die in North Carolina. She and Uncle Vester had lived in
Morganton all their lives until a couple of years ago when they moved to
Maryland to be close to their children. She is getting her wish.
