[Seekers] Outreach Proposals

This past Sunday morning we passed out the attached list of
opportunities for volunteering.  It has the names and addresses of over
a dozen organizations, as well as websites and contact information for
the volunteer coordinators, and descriptions of some of the activities
available for you to help with.

 

One of the ones I am particularly interested in is listed under HandsOn
Northwest North Carolina - the "Give2TheTroops" care package collection
drive, which is set to wrap up Sept. 11th.  Looks like we might be able
to have a collection receptacle at our church.

 

My next step is to create an interest sign-up board, where anyone who is
interested can sign up for the activities they might like to explore.
As more people sign up for some things and not for others, we will get a
sense of which places folks want to participate with.  My thought is
that this board will not be for a commitment so much as for initial
interest.  In other words, you might put your name down on three or four
organizations, and then when we see who is signed up for what, you might
decide to commit to one and not the others.

 

I will plan to bring the sign-up board in this Sunday morning, July
11th, and we'll see what happens then...thanks very much!
