Greg,

Can you please send this along to the class today:

Barbecue Topics to Discuss/Confirm SundayNovember 1st:

The barbecue planning committee met Thursday night and cameup with the following items and recommendations to discuss with the class thisSunday morning:
Circulation: we recommend that all barbecue customers enter through the doors into the narthex near the church office, so they will walk past the vendors as they come in and depart. All eat-in customers will enter and leave the Fellowship Hall through the far hallway near Guy Kelpin’s office. No one except class workers will need to use the hallway between the Kitchen and Fellowship Hall. Desserts: we are requesting that the desserts for take-out customers be limited to brownies or pound cake, so they can be easily placed into a take-out box. We are looking for the same wide variety of cakes, pies, and other delicious desserts that we’ve had in the past for eat-in diners. These will be laid out on the tables at the back of the Fellowship Hall as usual. We also need baked goods to sell. Captains: we will assign captains for some of the work categories (wait staff at Fellowship Hall, servers in Kitchen, etc.), and they will be responsible for those assisting them in those tasks. This is to keep us a little more organized and efficient. Food lines: we will have two lines in the kitchen, one for eat-in and one for take-out. Each line will have three servers. Customers will be seated in the Fellowship Hall and have their meals brought to them by waiters. No customers will come through the kitchen or either of the two food lines. Beans and slaw: we will be making our own beans and slaw. Thanks go to Ron Barrow and Barry Crotty for this money-saving idea and the work to back it up. Number of chickens to order: the committee recommends ordering 900 chickens, just as we did last year. Any extras can be used for WNF dinners or sold off in the weeks and months after the event.

Thanks Greg…please note that we may cut into yourteaching time Sunday morning. By sending this out ahead of time, I hopeto keep the discussion as short as possible.

Thanks!

Russ DuBois
