To reiterate, anyone on the list can send Email to
Seekers at lists.burkhead.org and have it delivered to the whole list.
Restrictions include; you must be on the list, there is a max size of
40KByte and don't have too many addresses in the "to" field. (I'm not
sure how many is too many) If the address you are sending from is not
on the list, I can fix it so that it works anyway. (at least now that
I'm getting the admin warning again. ;-) )

Greg,

Will you please send this out to the Seekers class? Thanks, and Happy
New Year!

Seekers,

Since it was my turn to teach this past Sunday, I passed out the
attached outline after the end of the lesson. As I tried to explain to
the members who were present, I am putting this forward as an idea for
how our class might explore the possibility of adopting some sort of
mission or outreach project.

I am not proposing what the project should or shouldn't be, or even
whether we should do a project, whatever it is. I am proposing a
*process* to take us from off-and-on, vague class discussions about the
need to "do something", to a point where we can perhaps make an informed
decision about actually doing something. When we have had those good
discussions in the past, we've never gotten to the point of being able
to identify the specific needs or commitments necessary to do whatever
it was, so it was difficult to get class members excited. It occurred
to me that maybe we needed some sort of framework or recipe to take us
to the next level.

If the class is in favor of this idea, I will be happy to organize a
task force to do the leg-work required to come back to the class at
various intervals to make presentations and ask for decisions. As you
can see, the outline I've developed has several points for class review
and input. I feel strongly that this needs to be a group effort. I
will gladly facilitate the process, but our whole class needs to decide
whether we want to do something like this or not.

I welcome your thoughts, comments, suggestions, changes, etc. Thanks!
